About Us
Nature’s Canopy is a fully licensed and insured tree and shrub care company that provides a large spectrum of services for your outdoor living space. We believe in offering a holistic approach to the maintenance and preservation of your trees and shrubs.

Our Story
Nature’s Canopy was started by Donny Coffey in 2019 in Tyrone, PA. Prior to starting his own operation, Donny had the privilege of working with nationally recognized operations, gaining valuable experiences that he would utilize to begin the framework for Nature’s Canopy. Throughout his tenure at these large companies, Donny noticed a distinct disconnect between what was proposed on paper and the quality of work in the field. Clients and their properties started to become only numbers and not working relationships.
The quality of any service is only as good as the training and experience of those who perform the work. When you choose Nature's Canopy as your provider, not only do our arborist representatives inspect, diagnose, and develop treatment plans/scopes of work, but we are the ones who will be on-site to perform the work. An ISA Certified Arborist is always on site. Maintaining that quality control is paramount.
Today, we have grown our valued clientele and continue to place a heavy focus on keeping a close relationship with our community, since we are family-owned and operated. When you work with us, we treat you like family and your property as if it were our own.

our Team

Donny Coffey
Donny was fortunate to begin his career under the tutelage of one of the first few board certified master arborists in Pennsylvania. This early opportunity sparked a passion for arboriculture and helping clients maintain their outdoor living spaces. Currently, he is an ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Qualified Tree Risk Assessor, TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional, qualified instructor for many tree care disciplines, and holds a Pennsylvania pesticide applicator license. He always encourages colleagues in the field to never stop learning and improving. When Donny is not in the field, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Abby, their two children, Cameron and Chloe, and Lola, the French bulldog. Weekends are filled with soccer games and spending as much time outside as possible.

Jack Hileman
Jack lives on and grew up on a dairy farm in Williamsburg, a small farming town 45 minutes south of State College. This is where he developed the fundamentals of hard work and the passion for the work he does. Jack and his wife Allie own a Subway together and have a one-year-old son, Korbin. They are expecting their second child in June. When Jack isn’t doing tree work you can find him fly fishing and hunting with his brother, farming, and spending time with his wife and kids. We are so blessed to have Jack as part of the Nature’s Canopy family. He has a passion for developing as an arborist and soaks in all the info that he can get. He is well on his way to becoming an ISA-certified arborist.

Cameron Coffey
Cameron is the son of Donny and Abby Coffey. He is currently a student at Tyrone Area School District where he is involved in soccer and track (and doing very well in both sports.) When he is not on the field, Cameron enjoys hobbies such as airsoft, gaming, and backpacking. Cameron has been working with us for the past two years and is getting better every season. He is such an enjoyable young man to be around, but of course I am biased…lol.

David Gabel
David is a student at Tyrone Area School District. He enjoys watching all sports, especially football, hockey, and basketball. He's involved in soccer, track, cross country, and National Honor Society. He also likes outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and playing with his dog, Tilly. If he had his way, he'd work for Nature's Canopy every day. Davis is a phenomenal worker and provides us with the seasonal help we need. His work ethic is amazing and we hope to provide him with a skillset he can use throughout his life.

Lola is our favorite little french bulldog who hails from Serbia. She comes to work every day equipped with her charming underbite and cute little tongue. Lola travels with the crew to and from job sites daily, so chances are you will see her at your home! She loves to be pampered and to bask in the sun while our team completes their task on your outdoor spaces!
